Written without fuss but based on solid learning and clear thinking, it tackles head-on a question many professional academic geographers would rather avoid: what is geography?
Beautiful little book that helps to introduce the core concepts of geography and provides an ideal framework for relating other fields of knowledge and academia.
A really useful introduction to Geography for those students that may choose to engage in research projects that draw upon geography.

Excellent book. I'm sympathetic to the stance taken here. I will use parts of it but won't adopt it in full.
The book gives an interesting and modern view of geography, but it doesn't go deep enough into the history of geography.
We use Holt-Jensen (2009): 'Geography history and concepts' in stead. It gives a broader and more systematic account.
