SAGE debuts Terminology Service with open Social Science Thesaurus

Housing over 61,000 concepts, SAGE Publishing’s new Terminology Service is a valuable tool to aid researchers in understanding and exploring key concepts.

It launches with the SAGE Social Science Thesaurus, a multidisciplinary vocabulary of the most important concepts in the social sciences that combines concepts, relationships and definitions. Most of this vocabulary has been created by using semantic text mining to put structure around text content published by SAGE.


SAGE Launches Comprehensive Research Methods Reference Resource

SAGE Publishing today launches SAGE Research Methods Foundations, an online reference resource on all aspects of research methods and the research process for the social sciences. The resource contains hundreds of entries written by an international roster of methods experts, such as psychologist Paul Stenner and sociologist Guillermina Jasso, each between 500 and 10,000 words.

SAGE Announces Social Science Impact Writing Contest

SAGE Publishing has launched a new contest for social and behavioral scientists to share the real-world impact of their research and help make the case that research in these fields can and should be used to improve the human condition. Winning stories will be published on Social Science Space, an online network for the social and behavioral science (SBS) community sponsored by SAGE, and the authors of the stories will receive a $500 honorarium.

ESRC announces winners of national writing competition: Better Lives

The ESRC, in partnership with SAGE Publishing, has announced the winners of its third student writing competition 'Better Lives' where ESRC-funded PhD students were asked to explain how their research has an impact on improving the lives of people. Two winners were picked from 12 finalists with 117 applicants entering the competition in total.
