This is a very useful book that adds to our knowledge of this important topic. I particularly liked the chapter by David Smith entitled Criminology, Contemporary Society and Race Issues, which engages with policing and young black males. This is an area of concern for academics and students in my classes and it is well written, balanced and objective.
