Mark D. Reckase is a Professor of Measurement and Quantitative Methods in the College of Education at Michigan State University. He has been in that position since 1998. Prior to that time, he was the Assistant Vice President for Assessment Innovations at ACT, Inc. and earlier was on the faculty at the University of Missouri - Columbia. Professor Reckase is widely published in the areas of computerized adaptive testing, multidimensional item response theory, standard setting on educational and psychological tests, and the use of performance tasks for assessment. He has been editor of the Journal of Educational Measurement and The Score (the newsletter of Division 5 of the American Psychological Association) and program chair for the annual meeting of the National Council for Measurement in Education and Division D of the American Educational Research Association. His current research interests are in the design of computerized adaptive tests and the scoring of performance assessments.
