Facilitator's Guide to Leading for Diversity Video

32 pages | Corwin
This product is only available as a companion to the Leading for Diversity Video when purchased as a kit.

The Facilitator's Guide is a companion to the video accompanying Rosemary Henze's book Leading for Diversity, and features the four key principles for improving ethnic relations found in the accompanying book

  • Building Community
  • Affirming Identity
  • Cultivating Student Leadership
  • Addressing Root Causes
The video features real classroom footage from schools in the Bay area of San Francisco, and interviews with school leaders, teachers, and students who are applying the principles in their buildings and classrooms. Some graphic pedagogy is also included to structure the discussion and progression.

The material is K-12 and footage covers schools and classrooms at all levels. The Facilitator Guide instructs practitioners on how best to incorporate the video into teaching and learning and provides a framework for professional development. Though directly tied to the research base and content from the core book, the video can easily be used as a stand-alone product for staff development and training on diversity and interethnic relations, for administrator and/or teacher trainings.
