Mark D. Twite, MD The Children's Hospital and University of Colorado, Denver, CO, USA

Dr. Mark Twite studied medicine at the University of Cambridge, England. He then trained in pediatric medicine in Edinburgh, Scotland before moving to the USA to undertake a fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine. At the end of this fellowship, Dr. Twite decided to remain in the USA and study anesthesia. He undertook his anesthesiology training at the University of Colorado and Children’s Hospital of Colorado. At the end of this training he returned to England for a fellowship in pediatric cardiac anesthesiology. Dr. Twite is currently the Director of Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia at Children’s Hospital Colorado and University of Colorado, Denver. He spends his time providing anesthesia to patients with congenital heart disease and conducting clinical research. Dr. Twite is on the board of directors of the Congenital Cardiac Anesthesia Society and he volunteers his time in disadvantaged countries tohelp develop congenital cardiac anesthesia programs.
