Jeron Zerillo, MD Mount Sinai Health System, New York, NY, USA

Jeron Zerillo, MD is a graduate of the New York University School of Medicine. He trained at the Mount Sinai Hospital for residency then fellowship in liver transplant anesthesia. Since completion of training, Dr. Zerillo has served as Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and as the program director of the fellowship in liver transplant anesthesia at the Mount Sinai Health System.

Dr. Zerillo is dedicated to promoting the field of liver transplantation through education and scholarly work. He currently serves as the Co-chair of the Committee on Liver Fellowship Education in the Society for the Advancement of Transplant Anesthesia (SATA) and has been recognized as the “Junior Faculty of the Year” and “Mentor of the Year” at the Mount Sinai Hospital. He has been selected to the Vanguard Committee of the International Liver Transplant Society where he has delivered international presentations. Dr. Zerillo has served on the simulation faculty at Mount Sinai. He has created a mannequin based liver transplant simulation as well as a novel screen based simulator (iOS) for liver transplant anesthesia training. Dr. Zerillo has served as an ad hoc reviewer for several journals including Clinical Transplantation, Journal of Clinical Anesthesia and Liver Transplantation. Dr. Zerillo also serves on committees both within and external to his institution including the Scientific Committee of SATA and the institutional Transfusion Committee for the Mount Sinai Health System. Dr. Zerillo has helped create and implement an ongoing multi-institutional initiative to study intraoperative cardiac arrest in liver transplantation. He has also recently helped lead an initiative to standardize the transesophageal echocardiographic exam in patients undergoing liver transplantation.
