Gary King is the Albert J. Weatherhead III University Professor at Harvard University, and director of the Institute of Quantitative Social Science. He is an elected fellow of eight honorary societies, including the National Academy of Science, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the American Academy of Political and Social Science. He has written more than 150 journal articles, 20 open-source software packages, and 8 books. King has also been key in several entrepreneurial ventures and has founded or invented technology for companies such as Crimson Hexagon, Learning Catalytics, and Perusall.
