Very useful for Access to Social Science students at PACA Adult Learning
A well-structured, intellectually-stimulating and student-focussed guide-book to a wide range of approaches and methods in social sciences and humanities. I found this textbook particularly helpful when teaching/supervising large groups of students with diverse interests. The text is expertly written and offers academically tested solutions/advice (as well as the clever Dos and Don'ts and the reflective questions) that can be used both in class and as individual tasks leading to further discussion.
I have decided that this will only be supplemental because it is quite specific to a certain angle of research and not all my students will find it useful - it depends on their research project and ideas. However, I do think it provides lots of detail and gives lots of ideas.
A great introduction to research in the social sciences.
