SAGE to begin publishing Annals of Otology, Rhinology and Laryngology

March 5, 2014

Los Angeles, CA - SAGE today announces that it will begin publishing Annals of Otology, Rhinology & Laryngology (Annals), effective immediately.

Published monthly in association with the American Broncho-Esophagological Association (ABEA), the Annals includes original research dealing with clinical or scientific aspects of otolaryngology, bronchoesophagology, head and neck medicine and surgery, maxillofacial and plastic surgery, audiology, speech pathology, and related specialties. All materials submitted for publication undergo peer review.

The Annals will continue to be edited by Dr. Richard J.H. Smith, who became Editor in 2004. Dr. Smith is Professor of Otolaryngology and Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, where he directs the Molecular Otolaryngology and Renal Research Laboratories.

“It has been a pleasure to be a part of the development of the Annals over the last ten years as its Editor. I look forward to this change for the journal and see it as an opportunity to create a new presence for the journal among the otolaryngological community,” commented Dr. Smith.

The journal publishes original research, papers of historical interest, papers on applications in otolaryngology, computer software reviews, imaging case studies, clinicopathological studies, book reviews, letters to the editor, and supplemental in-depth studies.

“It is a real honor to be adding a publication to our growing portfolio of medical journals that has existed for more than 120 years, yet continues to evolve to meet the changing needs of medical practitioners and researchers,” said Bob Howard, SAGE’s Vice President of Journals. “We are delighted to be publishing the Annals and look forward to working with Dr. Smith to support the journal’s growth.”
