SAGE strengthens medical portfolio in Singapore following partnership with SingHealth to publish Proceedings

July 2, 2015

London, UK - SAGE and SingHealth have today announced a new partnership to publish SingHealth’s flagship journal, Proceedings of Singapore Healthcare, as of September 2015. The journal will remain owned by SingHealth but will be published by SAGE.

Proceedings of Singapore Healthcare is an international, peer-reviewed journal that publishes quality research on all aspects of healthcare and biomedical sciences, with an emphasis on research of direct clinical relevance. The journal aims to improve the quality of care to patients by informing and stimulating discussion among health professionals. The journal’s geographic focus on healthcare and biomedical research enables it to provide a unique insight into a specialist area of research within Southeast Asia; however, the editors encourage contributions from all parts of the globe.

Prof Soo Khee Chee, Deputy Group CEO (Research & Education), SingHealth, commented:

“As SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre’s flagship journal, Proceedings publishes high quality research to stimulate healthcare discussion in the region. SAGE is a renowned publisher that shares our publishing values and will definitely enhance the engagement with Proceedings’ content. We look forward to seeing this partnership expand the global impact of our research.”

Dan Huke, Commissioning Editor, SAGE Asia Pacific, further commented:

“Since our founding in 1965, SAGE has developed a strong standing across the academic fields and has since been named one of the top five medical journal publishers by number of journals published. Key to our growth and development has been our publishing mission – to support both access to and engagement with high quality academic research.  Announcing our partnership with Singapore Health to publish their flagship title is not only a testament to our growth within the Asia Pacific region as a publisher, but also our growing strength within the medical field. We look forward to working with the esteemed editorial board to develop the reach and standing of this influential journal.”

Chief Editor for Proceedings, Associate Professor Lo Yew Long also added:

“We are very much looking forward to developing the global scope and reach of our journal under SAGE’s publishing direction. As one of the leading, academic publishers, we are excited by SAGE’s international market insight and growing strength within the medical disciplines. This is something that we look forward to both benefiting from and developing together in our working relationship.”

Published quarterly as an open access (OA) journal, the journal is free for authors to publish in and papers will be published with a CC-BY-NC license. More information on the journal can be found here.
