Irene S. McClatchey, PhD, LCSW, serves as an associate professor and director of the Master’s of Social Work Program at Kennesaw State University. She teaches death, dying, and bereavement, and her research focuses on childhood traumatic grief and posttraumatic growth. She is the founder of Camp MAGIK, an independent nonprofit organization, which provides healing camps for bereaved children: first held in 1995; it now serves 200+ children and their families a year.
