David Edwards' updated Art Therapy 2nd edition aptly manages to convey a breadth as well as a depth of the profession.This book's accessible and lively style makes it an excellent primary text to gain a comprehensive understanding of art therapy. It makes for essential reading for people interested in the field as well as students and professionals alike.
For a comprehensive, and thoughtful introduction to Art Therapy this is possibly the best place to start.

A good, accessible introduction to the subject of art therapy with an overview of the history, guidance on different practical considerations and some helpful case illustrations as well as clear references for further reading. Not as in-depth in terms of clinical practice and reflection as other texts, more of a practical introduction to the field and career path.
Art therapy was not appropriate for this course.

This book has lots of nice ideas and illustrations and we found that the techniques and methods discussed are easily transferable and inspire you to be creative in your own work.
