This is an excellent resource. Professor Thomas' in-depth knowledge of CBT enables him to present realistic case-studies. The introductory chapters provide a contemporary view of CBT before we are provided with detailed and varied case histories. I particularly liked the addition of a critique of each case study.
This book will be an ideal companion not only for students taking a particular CBT specialist module, but also to flesh out understanding of how CBT looks in practice for those with a more integrative perspective. I know of no other book which draws together case study material in such a way.
Case studies interesting and vaired with good worked illustrations from practice making CBT theory come alive. Used currently in preparation of teaching sessions and roleplay activities. Well liked by the student group as can be used in a practical way to demonstrate skills required to deliver interventions. A very useful book for teachers and students alike.

A well- written and practical text that addresses a number of specific client conditions and provides guidance relating to the structure of specific sessions. Due to the complex nature of the problems that clients present with in therapy, I did find the chapters associated with, for example, working with clients with OCD; PTSD, and Dependent Personality Disorder somewhat simplistic.
A good book covering useful case studies. An essential read to help students write case study assignments in CBT.
