Peggy Shannon-Baker (they/them), PhD, is an Associate Professor of educational research at Georgia Southern University. Dr. Shannon-Baker’s scholarship in mixed methods research has focused on investigating culturally relevant and sustainable research practices in mixed methods through the use of visual and arts-based approaches. This work has been published in the Journal of Mixed Methods Research, International Journal of Qualitative Methods, and International Journal of Multiple Research Approaches, as well as disciplinary specific journals (e.g., Methods in Psychology, The Journal of Special Education) and edited volumes such as Mixed methods social network analysis: Theories and methodologies in learning and education and The Routledge handbook for advancing integration in mixed methods research.
Dr. Shannon-Baker has worked on research grants in education, special education, and nursing and has given workshops and guest lectures on mixed methods in Austria, Canada, Jamaica, and Trinidad. Dr. Shannon-Baker is also an Associate Editor of the Journal of Mixed Methods Research and section Co-Lead (Co-Editor) for the forthcoming Sage Handbook of Mixed Methods Research Designs. They were also awarded the 2023 Significant Contributions to Research Methodology Award from the American Educational Research Association Division D: Measurement & Research Methodologies.
