The Journal of Engineering Tribology publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed papers from academia and industry worldwide on the engineering on science associated with tribology and its applications.

“During the last decade the production of scientific papers has skyrocketed, and during the two years as editor for your journal the number of submissions has nearly doubled. During this period time we have also experienced the outbreak of the coronavirus and been living with the COVID-19 pandemic for more than one and a half years now. This has brought us pain and despair and it has demonstrated to us that life is fragile and that things may change very rapidly. Human beings have, however, an astonishing ability to adapt to unprecedented moments and come out of them strengthened by the adversities they come with. At the Journal of Engineering Tribology we have been able to continue processing your submissions and at the same time the from submission to 1st (and final) decision from 61 (73), during the period 2-June-2018 to 2-June-2019, has been shortened to 24 (27), during the period 2-June-2020 to 2-June-2021, while maintaining the acceptance ratio at the same level. This is a significant achievement and would not have been possible the proficient work put down by the associate editors, the reviewers and by all the authors that have chosen to submit their work to the journal. Thank you all wholeheartedly and let’s keep up the good work!” Andreas Almqvist, Luleå University of Technology, Sweden.

The Journal of Engineering Tribology publishes high-quality peer-reviewed papers from academia and industry worldwide on the engineering science associated with tribology and its application to machine elements. Papers may be of a fundamental nature addressing analysis and experiments or reports of design, development and service experience by practising engineers in industry.

The scope includes: Plain and rolling element bearings; Hydrostatic and gas bearings; Piston rings; Gears and seals; Cams and followers; Condition monitoring; Modes of lubrication; lubrication technology; Lubricant rheology and chemistry; Wear and friction, particularly for lubricated conditions; Contact mechanics; Materials and coatings; High- and low-temperature, and other extreme environment tribology.
