Rice University

Sage has an agreement with Rice University to publish articles open access. The agreement for participating organizations will run from the January 01, 2024 through to the December 31, 2026. The details of the agreement are as follows: 

To qualify for the agreement, the corresponding author must be affiliated with Rice University and have an article accepted for publication between the January 01, 2024 and the December 31, 2026.

When the charity International Cat Care asked veterinary neurologists at Davies Veterinary Specialists, UK, for help with several enquiries it had received regarding cats having seizures, seemingly in response to certain high-pitched sounds, the answer was that the problem was not documented and little, if anything, was known about it.


Living in mixed communities makes ethnic minorities feel British

People from minorities are more likely to feel part of Britain when their neighbours are from different ethnic backgrounds, research published in the journal Sociology, says.

In the most comprehensive study of community cohesion yet carried out, Dr Neli Demireva, of the University of Essex, and Professor Anthony Heath, of the University of Oxford, analysed data from two surveys on 4,391 British people, 3,582 of them from ethnic minorities.
