the layout of the text is supportive to students learning needs and the use of reflection and case studies enhance points raised.

This is a well organised book that investigates the issues when researching with children. Can be easily adopted for students' use.
A good resources that covers; in quite a high level of detail; the process of carrying out research on Children and Young People.
As it is intended as an advanced level of study it does require some basic understanding of research practice and terminology and uses a high level of English language throughout the text. There are some excellent resources for groups looking to carry out research, as well as students who are looking to develop their own skills within the field.
There are a number of very detailed case studies that look to cover a wide range of areas however the high level of study, as well as the academic subject area make this a little inaccessable for Foundation Degree level and therefore would be better as a supporting resource.
Covers all aspects of research including research design, methods and analysis. The section 'supporting young people as researchers' gave useful tips, including advice on ethical issues.
I like the fact the references are at the end of each chapter.
Good use of case studies and examples to bring research to life.
Very practical ideas - great for students with specific projects working with children
