This is a wide-ranging book that covers lots of different aspects of teaching and learning for the FE sector, including the role of the tutor, how to plan for teaching and learning, how to support learning and much more. It will suit FE tutors newly appointed to their role, as it provides a 'ground up' approach.

This text gives a comprehensive insight into the principles and practices of teaching in an accessible format. The tone throughout is interesting and engaging and the opportunities for applying theory to practice are clear. Highly recommended.

This is a well organised and concisely written book, covering a whole range of topics and ideas that trainees would need to consider while on the DET/PGCE course. I would thoroughly recommend the book for anyone starting out on this ITE course as a go to source for information which can be the starting point to further reading and research.

This book expands on many of Ann Gravell's other works and provides a comprehensive volume of use to anyone working as a teacher or trainer in the education and skills sector. Although primarily aimed at new teachers and trainers the book is a useful tool for anyone working in the sector. The book is very accessible and contains a range of examples and activities, a comprehensive index and useful appendices. An excellent textbook.
