This text is an overall introduction to theory as well as a source of practical ideas for working with children, young people and familial relationships.
It includes concise diagrams and tables throughout. The ‘questions for group discussions or student assignments’ sections make it a good teaching aid and a useful additional text on Counselling Diploma level courses
Those familiar with the Geldards’ clear, accessible writing style will not be disappointed.

This book provides good reference for students who work with children on a 1:1 basis and develop unique relationships. It is vital to know the extent to which they are equipped to 'counsel'.
The text is also very good for citing other sources in this area of study.
