Editor Mehmet Odekon is Professor of Economics and Tisch Family Distinguished Professor at Skidmore College in New York. Dr. Odekon has edited numerous encyclopedias focused on economics, including the first edition of the SAGE Encyclopedia of World Poverty (2006), named on Library Journal’s Best Reference List and Booklist Editor’s Choice. His research interests pertain to the political economy of development and globalization and domestic and international poverty and income equality.
