The Journal of Entrepreneurship is a multidisciplinary forum for the publication of articles and research and discussion of issues that bear upon and enfold the field of entrepreneurship. The Journal of Entrepreneurship (JOE) is designed to disseminate the research outcomes of innovative challenging, and dynamic nature of the field with special reference to emerging economies. The journal focuses on the changing contours of entrepreneurial research and training and acquaints the readers with the latest trends and directions of explorations in the theory and practice of entrepreneurship. The originality evaluation, strong peer review of JoE helps to get high quality research papers with innovative methodologies, conceptual discoveries which leads to the contribution of knowledge and expands the frontiers of our knowledge and insight.

The JOE is tri-annual journal published in March, July and November every year by SAGE Publications since 1992 in print and electronic format. Topics appropriate and related to entrepreneurship include entrepreneurship theories, entrepreneurial behavioural, entrepreneurial strategy, entrepreneurial ventures, family business, social entrepreneurship and international entrepreneurship. Disciplinary boundaries that straddle entrepreneurship theory and research include economics, psychology, sociology, anthropology, history, management and others. The journal particularly welcomes articles that advance our understanding of entrepreneurship phenomenon across different national and cultural contexts. Articles should be well articulated and substantive. The journal is peer-reviewed.

    The Journal of Entrepreneurship (JOE) is a multidisciplinary forum for the publication of articles, research and discussion of issues that bear upon and enfold the field of entrepreneurship. Topics appropriate and related to entrepreneurship include intrapreneurship, managership, organisational behaviour, leadership, motivation, training, and ethical / moral notions guiding entrepreneurial behaviour. Disciplinary boundaries that straddle entrepreneurship theory and research include economics, psychology, sociology, anthropology, history, management and others. The journal particularly welcomes articles that advance our understanding of entrepreneurship phenomenon across different national and cultural contexts. Articles should be well articulated and substantive.

    Publication ethics

    Article Types:

    Perspectives shall ordinarily be articles, essays, think pieces on an issue or a subject of interest to researchers and scholars. Such idea-based articles by their very nature cut across different areas and disciplines. Perspective pieces will be featured as and when the Editors receive suitable ones. The Editors may, from time to time, also seek contributions from well known and recognised scholars and thinkers for perspectives.

    Research Articles based on empirical evidence which help define an area of study relevant and related to entrepreneurship, critically evaluate previous theory and research, and advance cumulative knowledge in the field.

    Notes and Comments This section, when featured shall report on research findings in brief as well as commentaries on previously published work, retrospections, reflections, subjects relevant to the understanding of entrepreneurship phenomena.

    Book Reviews covers reviews of current books on entrepreneurship and management. All submissions should comply with the following guidelines:

    1. Manuscripts, in English, should not ordinarily exceed approximately 5000 words. Authors should submit soft copies of their manuscripts in MS-WORD format addressed to the Editor. Manuscripts should include an abstract of 120-150 words, 4-6 keywords and contact information for each author including email addresses.     2. All manuscripts, in order to be anonymously reviewed, should include a separate title page with author's names and affiliations, and these should not appear elsewhere in the manuscript. Footnotes that identify the authors should be typed on a separate page. Authors should make every effort to ensure that the manuscript contains no clues to their identities.

    Manuscript format:
    (a) Title: The title should be concise and not more than ten words and should include keywords that describe the article's subject matter.

    (b) Acknowledgements: These should be brief and supplied on a separate page.

    (c) Follow British spellings rather than American spellings ('labour' not "labor',' 'centre' not 'center'; universalize in 'ise' and isation' of words) throughout the text.

    (d) Use of numerals: One to nine in words, 10 and above in figures, unless the reference to tables in the text is to be made by their numbers (see Table 1) not location (see Table above). The same holds for figures.

    (e) No stops after abbreviations (USA, USSR). Use stops after initials (R.K. Laxman).

    (f) References: The American Psychological Association (APA, 6th edition, 2001) style will be adopted for purposes of referencing (author's name, date of publication in parentheses in the text) and all citations should be listed alphabetically by author after the body of the text. The following examples illustrate the referencing format:

    i) Authored book: Singh, A. (2004). Fifty years of higher education in India: The role of the University Grants Commission. New Delhi: Sage Publications.
    ii) Chapters in edited book: Klemp, G.O., Jr., & McClelland, D.C. (1986). What characterizes intelligent functioning among senior managers. In R.J. Sternberg & R.K. Wagner (Ed.), Practical intelligence: Nature and origin of competence in the everyday world (pp. 31-50). Cambridge: Cambridge University Press.
    iii) Journal article: Kanungo, R. N. & Misra, S. (1992). Managerial resourcefulness: A reconceptualization of management skills. Human Relations, 45: 1311-31.
    iv) Website. Dees, G. (1999). The meaning of social entrepreneurship. From http://www.gsb.stanford.edu/esi/SEDefinition

    (g) Republication of articles published in the journal would require the Editor's clearance.

    (h) An author will receive 15 offprints and a complimentary copy of the issue in which his/her article appears.

    Copyright: Submission is a representation that the manuscript has not been published previously and is not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. A statement transferring copyright from the authors (or their employers, if they hold the copyright) to the Editor will be required before the manuscript is accepted for publication. The Journal of Entrepreneurship will supply the necessary forms for this transfer.

    Permissions and Releases: Material taken directly from a copyrighted source should be clearly identified, and the copyright holder's written permission to reproduce it must be submitted in a separate file. Obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material is the author's responsibility, as is payment of any fees the copyright holder may request.
