Introducing Globalization
Analysis and Readings
- Richard W. Mansbach - Iowa State University, USA
- Edward Rhodes - George Mason University, USA
This book was somewhat less useful than I had expected. It is of episodic nature with a "European" selection of events and issues, rather than a coherent treatment of the major dimensions of globalization. Useful, but not suitable as a primary text.
A valuable introductory text, recommended for undergraduates willing to better understand globalisation processes by studying its different facets.
This text offers an extensive and comprehensive overview of the debates and subjects connected with globalization. The book effectively covers the origins, developments, successes and challenges of globalization in an easy to use and understand format which appeals to students.
This is a great text which introduces students to the full spectrum of globalisation argument from economic competitive advantage to cultural detoriation of values. As a primer for intellectual debate or an insight on contemporary political motivations Mansbach and Rhodes have compiled a first rate text.
Introducing Globalization: Analysis and Readings gives the reader a comprehensive overview on the topic of globalization. By assembling readings that present different perspectives on the theme the book helps the students to critically assess the impact of globalization. It is thus an indispensable tool for any course in international relations.
