Rajiv George Aricat (PhD, Communication Studies, 2016, Nanyang Technological University) has studied the adoption and use of Information Communication Technology (ICT) among low-income groups in Southeast Asian social and geographical context. For his doctoral research he studied the mobile phone use of South Asian migrant workers in Singapore. Between 2014 and 2019 he was part of research projects exploring mobile phone adoption in Myanmar, rumor and misinformation on social media and Chinese and Indian international migration. His papers have appeared in International Journal of Communication, Journal of Information Technology & Politics, and Information Technology & People.
