'The success of this book is in its ability to explore inclusion from a wide perspective. Offering a range of thought-provoking material, such as reflective questions, debates and controversies, practitioner, parent and children's views, legislation, activities, and examples of good practice, will keep readers interested and actively engaged throughout the book'

This is an excellent source of information regarding additional support needs. It does not have a regional focus and would provide valuable background reading for students and teachers. It covers all the key areas that are relevant in schools today, including children from traveling families, children with EAL and gender and race inclusion.
For the year 1 BA Education course
While this is a complex subject this text draws out the key tenants in am accessible way.
This text provides a good overview of the treatment of different groups within society and the importance being inclusive and respectful to children. I particularly found the activities useful and the different perspectives on inclusion interesting.
Support a depth of understanding regarding complex issues for early years
A very good introduction to Diversity- very accessible
This work provides a good overview of inclusion issues from a broad perspective. A good source for modules with a focus on sociology/society or inclusive practice.
The recognition of social class and poverty issues to aspects of exclusion would be a welcome addition to this.
This is a nice read for students and teachers studying inclusion and diversity in childhood. The book focuses on gender and inclusion, race and inclusion and culture and inclusion to name but a few areas, which is a little different to many books which explore inclusion and diversity. There are also some creative activities which can be used for either seminar or set tasks for students. Readership, this text would be appropriate for undergraduates and anyone interested in childhood inclusion and diversity.
This book is just as relevant to the upper primary age range - the messages are the same for all.
An easy read that can be revisited in 'chunks'.
A informative book that contains relevant information to enable FdA students to read around the subject and relate back to their module and practice.
