Tom E.C. Smith is Emeritus Dean and University Professor of Special Education, College of Education and Health Professions, at the University of Arkansas, USA. He has authored or co-authored 32 books and revised editions. Dr. Smith served as the Executive Director of the Division on Autism and Developmental Disabilities of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) from 1994 until 2013, and three terms on the President's Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities. He is currently the Executive Director of the Southeast Postsecondary Education Alliance (SEPSEA) which provides professional development and support for inclusive postsecondary education programs in 13 states. His current interests focus on inclusive postsecondary education programs at colleges and universities for young adults with intellectual disabilities.
