Nick Henry Coventry University, UK

Nick Henry joined Coventry University in 2013 and was subsequently promoted to Co-Director of the new Research Centre for Business in Society, to Professor of Economic Geography, and to Economic Development and Inclusive Economies cluster lead. Before this, for ten years Nick was a public policy and evaluation consultant, culminating in his position as Consulting Director, Economic Development and Economic Policy at ICF GHK. Nick began his career as an economic geographer at the Open University, before lectureships at Southampton and Birmingham universities and a Readership at CURDS (Centre for Urban and Regional Development Studies), at Newcastle University. From 2003-2007, he combined his Readership with consultancy before becoming a full-time policy consultant whilst holding a Visiting Professorship at Newcastle University. He is a (founding) Director of Creative United and Editor-in-Chief of the highly ranked international journal European Urban and Regional Studies.

Nick has a long run interest in economic and social development models, place-based policy and outcomes for individuals, communities and places. He has very substantial and wide-ranging experience of directing and managing research and consultancy projects on economic and social development for a range of (mainly public) clients from local to European levels.
