Dr. Nanci is a graduate of McGill University (Canada) with postgraduate training at University of Southern California. Dr. Nanci is a Professor at the Faculty of Dentistry of the Université de Montréal since 1992 and the Director of the Laboratory for the Study of Calcified Tissues and Biomaterials (LSCTB) since 1990. His research interests are in basic cell biological processes of normal and pathological calcified tissues, and in the integration of biomaterials, and he has over 140 publications in these fields. Nanci’s LSCTB laboratory has developed expertise with various forms of structural imaging, and is one of the three major poles of the Montreal Network for Materials, Structural and Molecular Imaging.
In addition to being an Associate Editor of The Journal of Histochemistry & Cytochemistry, Dr. Nanci is on the Editorial Board of the European Journal of Histochemistry and Le Chirurgien Dentiste de France. He has also been a past recipient of the Maffo Vialli International Award of Histochemistry Distinction from the Italian Histochemical Society.
